FAQ

The app can't hear me / “Microphone unavailable”

Go to Settings › EzQuiel and allow the microphone. Also check that no call or other app is using the mic at the same time.

Where should I put my iPhone while it listens?

Facing the stage, where the audience stands, with the mic unobstructed. Play music at show volume during the 10 seconds.

Is the decibel meter accurate?

It's an estimate from the iPhone microphone, within a few dB. It's there to spot risky levels, not to replace a certified sound level meter.

“Send to my mixer” can't find my mixer

Your iPhone must be on the same Wi-Fi as the mixer, and the app needs Local Network access (Settings › EzQuiel › Local Network). You can also type the mixer's IP address. Supported mixers: Behringer X32 / Midas M32, Behringer X Air / Midas MR, Allen & Heath Qu.

Why aren't some tips sent to the mixer?

Only tips with a frequency and a dB value can be sent, up to the number of EQ bands on your mixer. The send screen lists what isn't sent, and why.

How much does an analysis cost?

3 analyses are free. After that, each analysis with advice uses one credit, sold in packs (10, 50 or unlimited). The “Save Their Ears” game and your history are free.

I changed iPhones — can I get my purchases back?

The unlimited purchase is tied to your Apple ID. For credits from the 10 and 50 packs, email me if you can't find them and I'll look into it with you.

I'd like a refund

Purchases go through Apple: request it at reportaproblem.apple.com. You can also email me first, I'll help.

Terms of use

EzQuiel is published by Alexandre Chalon. The app is governed by Apple's standard license agreement for App Store apps, together with the points below.

Advice, not guarantees. EzQuiel's advice is generated automatically from a measurement made with the iPhone microphone. It helps you decide but doesn't replace your ears or a professional's opinion. Always listen to the result before keeping it.

Protect hearing. Keep volume reasonable during measurements and shows. The decibel meter gives an estimate, not a certified measurement.

Sending to a mixer. Before sending settings, check they suit the situation, especially mid-show. You remain responsible for your mixer's settings.

Credits and purchases. One analysis with advice uses one credit. Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred. Payments, receipts and refunds are handled by Apple.

Changes. Features may change from one version to the next. If these terms change significantly, this page will be updated.
