MaestroDMX Visualizer

See your MaestroDMX show in 3D, without rigging a single light

You programmed a show on your MaestroDMX, but the lights are in the van, or not rigged yet? Velvet Visualizer shows your show in 3D on your Mac: your stage, your fixtures, and the light changing with the music.

How it works, in 3 steps

  1. Send Art-Net from your MaestroDMX. MaestroDMX software 1.5 (March 2026) can send a full DMX universe over Art-Net. Your Mac and your Maestro must be on the same network.
  2. Import your show. In Velvet Visualizer, choose File ▸ Import MaestroDMX File… and pick the JSON file exported from your Maestro. Fixtures, addresses and groups are placed for you. A built-in MaestroDMX guide walks you through it.
  3. Watch it live. The 3D view mirrors the signal your Maestro is really sending, fixture by fixture. A setup assistant checks that the Art-Net signal arrives and tells you when something is wrong.

What you can do with it

Who is it for?

Musicians, bands and small production companies who run their lights with MaestroDMX and want to preview, plan or show a client what the show will look like.

Questions

Do I need extra hardware?
No. Your Mac and your MaestroDMX on the same network, with Art-Net turned on, are enough.

Do I have to patch my fixtures again by hand?
No. Import the JSON file exported from your MaestroDMX and your fixtures, addresses and groups come in automatically.

Windows or iPad?
Not yet. Velvet Visualizer is Mac only (macOS 14 or newer).
